Three Small Words

Scars, Book One, Entry One

Three words dreamed,

By two dreamers.

A lifetime ago…

A dreamer exhausted…

Where were you?

Another strung out...

I fucked up.

Craving to drink,

Tracing sweet ink.

Dreams spiral, bleed.

Haunting nightmares feed.

How could you?

I don’t know.

Ink stains, blots.

Flame after flame.

Minds meld, shocks.

Fear, guilt, shame.

I loved you

I’m so sorry.

Hearts ache, break,

After the slip.

Minds snap, crack,

From the trip.

Three words break.

This is over.

Three thoughtless words…

I hate you.

Or totally deserved…

You hate yourself.

Three words heard.

I am leaving,

Please, don’t go.

Three words haunt.

Keep us reckless.

Make us restless.

You left already.

Three words echo,

I miss you.

Inked into skin.

I miss you.

Carried as sin

It’s too late.

Three little words.
